New deal ship shop

It not the most accurate temperature but it work pretty good. It would be nice if the next generation is better. I had Tripac on one truck and it was nice but lots of repairs so not so cheap to operate. Then I had Opti ilde on my S60 Detroit it was trouble free system and only replaced the engine starter one time at likemiles. BrandtNov 13, Nov 14, RocketyManNov 14, Nov 17, Well a new development has occurred. I still haven't been able to get it into option idle doing the way told so I'm sure it does not have it.

The new development though is that last night I had my foot just enough on the throttle to not raise the rpm while watching a movie on my laptop but it triggered the system to not shut down or pop the message up. Well I was like that for about IDK 30 or 40 min and then I took my foot off because I was going to head to bed and the truck shutting down was going to be my que to go to bed Well it didn't shut down in fact 5 or so min later the idle spiked by itself and started idling really rough.

And it did not enter Regen mode for the def. It freaked me out so I just shut the truck off. The truck has never stayed idling above or below this temp but this morning my co-driver started the truck to warm it up and it actually stayed idling by itself and I didn't do anything and she said she didn't do anything.

Almost as if the engine brake was on or something but it wasn't. But it wasn't so she tapped the gas and it stopped But we are going to Laredo tx again this week so I guess we'll see if it was a fluke or not.Log in or Sign up. Find Trucking Jobs. Jul 10, 1. Optimized idle shut down

Bent WrenchJul 10, BigJohn54jefflouk and gpsman Thank this. Jul 10, 3. What Bent Wrench said. BigJohn54Jul 10, Jul 10, 4. Will run for 3 minutes I think. Its not to run very far, but just enough to get you to a safe place to park and shutdown.

You're real issue is why the ECM thinks you're killing the engine Jul 10, 5. I am leasing the truck right now. Jul 10, 6. If your truck has a manual, read it.

THBatMan8Jul 10, TruckingJohn Thanks this. Jul 10, 7. Jul 10, 8. Jul 10, 9. Are you meaning to say that when your time is up the engine shuts itself Dow? The company really does that?

Or are you talking just a normal engine idle timer? What kind of motor? DieseljunkieJul 10, Jul 10, Show Ignored Content.Discussion in ' Freightliner Forum ' started by FztroutNov 13, Log in or Sign up.

2018 Cascadia idle override

I couldn't find a post for this for this model year but I just recently signed on with a certain big fleet company and they are very stricked about idling. This is a problem because my body literally will not let me sleep because of this god awful humidity. Which is an even bigger problem because lack of sleep I'm sure you all know means accidents.

Well my partner And I got stuffed into a brand new Cascadia and none of the tricks from the older models seem to work. Is there anyone who may actually know a trick because the only I know that actually works is pulling the ambient air temp sensors which I cannot find for the life of me because no one is specific about the location.

Someone said behind the grill another said behind the front bumper and another said it's in a mirror Well there are 4 mirror housings on the truck And what does behind mean?

Or find a different company. Tb0n3 Thanks this. Nov 13, 3. If they dont allow idling, you wont be able to idle without them knowing it one way or the other. And I certainly wouldnt start tampering with the truck parts, removing parts etc. GrumppyNov 13, Nov 13, 4. Does that have Detroit Optimized idle seems like it should have something to keep cool when sleeping.

BrandtNov 13, Nov 13, 5. RocketyManNov 13, Nov 13, 6. The company does allow idling in certain circumstances. And it does have optimized idle but the parameters are set so stupid.

It won't idle unless the temp is below 20 or above I think But there is nothing to keep the trucks cool no APU's I'm not looking to idle every single night just the nights like last night that are just unbearably uncomfortable.I'm gonna be in a rental for few days next week. It's a Freightliner Cascadia.

It doesn't have an APUso will have to idle unfortunately.

Idle shutdown override for Freightliner Cascadia Evolution

Anyone had to override the engine idle shutoff on one of these? I've already asked to see if it has the Smart Idle or whatever, which will allow the engine to start itself when needed as an APU would. It doesn't. Gonna miss my APU for that time for sure. On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time.

This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine. Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU. Try the following: While parked and idling with cruise control on. Turn cruise off then on again.

If idle jumps one or two hundred rpm, these steps may be your cure. The directions will be on a sticker on the dash right behind where the Qualcomm mounts. Yup, you start the truck, set brakes, high range neutral, cruise. Have your temp control set where you want it before hand. Leave your key to on position in the ignition. Truck will start on its own and run to maintain the desired temp and shut off when temperature is reached. My apu bunk ac isn't working well at the moment so I've played with it a bit lately.

Moreover, the system remains off even after the hood is closed, effectively disabling the system from functioning until the next key cycle. To take advantage of the workaround, one would need to pop the hood before starting the vehiclestart the car with the hood open, and then shut the hood.

This prevents the engine auto-stop-start system from operating while guaranteeing that the pesky open hood indicator light disappears with the rest of the warnings that flicker to life upon starting a vehicle with an open hood. Is this an end-all solution to disabling the engine auto-stop-start system? Of course not. Opening the hood every time you start the car sounds rather laborious. Anthony Alaniz was a GM Authority contributor between from thru Try it; leave your hood open and use the key-fob to remote start, or use remote start and then open your hood before turning the ignition on.

The engine will either not start at all, or shut off every time.

The customer is entirely secondary. Actually here is the reality of the start stop. The reason for it is for or cycle credits to be earned for emissions.
